About the event

This course will prepare the electrician with the knowledge and skills to properly design and install motor installations according to the requirements of the NEC.   The first half of the class will go through the different types of motors in the industry and discuss their operations.   We will discuss the properties of magnetism and induction which helps with creating the revolving magnetic field to turn the motor.  This also shows why motors have significant in-rush currents that we must account for when applying the code requirements of Article 430.  Then we will discuss the different types of motors for single and three phase electrical installations.  By building an understanding of the different types of motors will help to have a better understanding how we apply the requirements of Article 430.  

 

The second night, the participants will be exploring the requirements of Article 430 in the NEC.  We will begin…
