About the event

Safe electrical circuits and systems depend on Code-compliant electrical ground and bonding.  Grounding and bonding are integral functions that must perform effectively to ensure safety for persons and property as required by the National Electrical Code.  We will begin the night with basic circuit theory and overcurrent protection characteristics.  This will help to understand how proper grounding and bonding result in circuits and systems that are essentially safe.   Then we will talk about the NEC code arrangement and common terms and definitions that are used when talking about grounding and bonding.  Then we will move into the grounding section in the NEC code book and begin talking about our different grounding electrodes and grounding electrode systems.   Next, we will be talking about the requirements for the grounded conductor at services.  We will finish with properly sizing the grounding electrode conductors, our bonding conductors, and our equipment grounding conductors.  Once we…
